GUWAHATI, OCTOBER 19: The NRC activities are now almost over with dramatic sudden transfer of Chief coordinator Pratik Hajela to Madhya Pradesh. Why was he transferred when the conclusion of the much talked NRC was on its anvil? The indigenous groups decry saying that the whole process under the coveof doubts.
Most surprisingly, the process had a heavy budget over Rs. 1600 crores but most of the government employees who gave their best considering it to be a historic and sacred act, were not paid. Talking to this media, an employee who was assigned the duty of an Investigating Officer during the peak hours said that they were not paid even a penny even after the final list was published for their month long tiresome risky job. Not only this, many of the NRC workers who spent their most valuable time in the process of updation,even many of the data entry operators were victimized. The big breaking question of the hour is that where was the heavy amount of budget allocated for the NRC spent?
The employees however hope that the Supreme court would justify it and would direct the NRC authority to pay the remuneration to those all who were either temporarily or permanently engagein the entire process NRC updation from the very beginning.
