Most surprisingly, the process had a heavy budget over Rs. 1600 crores but most of the government employees who gave their best considering it to be a historic and sacred act, were not paid. Talking to this media, an employee who was assigned the duty of an Investigating Officer during the peak hours said that they were not paid even a penny even after the final list was published for their month long tiresome risky job. Not only this, many of the NRC workers who spent their most valuable time in the process of updation, even many of the data entry operators were victimized. The big breaking question of the hour is that where was the heavy amount of budget allocated for the NRC spent?
